Finally, there is the idea of filming little 30-60 second commercials and teaser trailers for classic books. These videos could be of short summaries, previews, and short scenes from the books, and my idea was that, instead of having the library staff star in them, the YA librarian could go to the local drama club and ask the students to help. If the school would then further work with the librarian, they could then agree to air the commercials during school news broadcasts. The videos could also play on a loop at the library as well. Below, you find several examples of such videos, originating from the very source of this idea: Jenny Sawyer. Also, after some videos, I'll also post the link back to her website and the original article which discusses the project. Personally, I really like this idea. A Streetcar Named Desire: The Catcher in the Rye: Their Eyes Were Watching God: The Crucible: Aren't these videos ingenious?! Want to see more? Go HERE to continue exploring this wonderful resource. As for the article which first alerted me to these teaser trailers and videos, you can read that as well. Enjoy!
