With the introduction of Seth Grahame-Smith's Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, a new literary genre was born: mashups. In this book (and all the others that follow), a classic work of literature is re-adapted to include supernatural elements such as the above stated zombies, vampires, werewolves, and other popular elements of the fantasy genre. Appealing to those who enjoy the current supernatural trend found in books, television, and film, these books have helped to reintroduce readers to novels which they otherwise might have forgotten about. (Again, in an effort to drum up interest in classic literature, this is another method I am attempting to use in my Inquiry Based Project.) With the following lists, special symbols were given to those books written prior to P&P&Z (*) and those books which are written about real historic figures (^).
